Week two - the kindness of strangers

Am a little overwhelmed by the kindness of some shops owners and managers in Clapham Junction today, even after the rioting and adversity ther this month.

I asked them for some help with raffle prizes. Kiehl's in Northcote Road were so helpful and nice, giving us some incredible goodies to raffle or auction, as well as offering to host a evening event in their store. Thank you!

The Body Shop ladies were really enthusiastic to help out too, with their time, expertise and skilled hands (hand massages) - so I think we might have a ladies cream tea and hand cream afternoon in the pipeline...

The gorgeous gift shop Huttons gave us some lovely things, Sainsburys and Cooperative also kidly contributed to the supper club fund and All Bar One was also generous, and hopefully there is more on the way! Thank you Clapham and Wandsworth!

Week two - aghh its already the end of week two!

I'd say its not panic, just eagerness.

honest!

Already the end of week two and except for some incredibly generous sould who have helped us get to 4% of our fundraising total (yeah!), we havent moved very far along with the plans.

This weekend will help though - a creative meeting on Monday, another trip to the gym on Sunday and hopefully a productive chat to our friendly local printers this evening will make me feel less "eager".

Week Two - arrangements

I got official sign-off from the Doc today - ha ha! sucker!

Just kidding. I'm fit as a fiddle and less highly strung. Now I am allowed to go crazy with the fundraising and not be nervous that we'd have to give it all back. hurray!

It is a bit scary that its such a hardcore trek that you need to get the Doc to pout his name to the fact that you won't automatically die up there. shudder. its going to be great....

Week two - Donations!

The campaign started making some money already - THANK YOU to the brave first 4 (by this point) Mum, Kelly, Victor, and Michael and Julie have been so generous, not to mention quick! Made the scare of discovering my training regime seem worth it today!

Week Two - sore feet

Loving my boots, but perhaps walking an hour to, and an hour from work on the same day was a mistake today. Talk about breaking them in - my feet that is.

I went to see Damo at the gym and gave him the personal responsibility for getting me up the mountain with a specially designed fitness programme. No, regime is the right term. Ouch. Seriously hard work, particularly tugh on the legs and bum, but boy, am I going to have buns of steel by February. At least it's only twice a week, along with the walking and other stuff I will need to do.
